Favorite Recipe Webquest

 In this webquest, I had to choose recipes for a meal and a dessert.  I chose homemade macaroni and cheese for my meal and lemon bars for dessert.  Once I found my recipes, I had to triple the meal and make my dessert 1/4 of what it originally was.  To triple my meal of macaroni and cheese, I just took the amount of one ingredient and multiplied it by 3.  Here is an example for the fraction ingredients:  1/4 x 3 would equal 3/4 because you would put 3 as 3/1 which is equivalent to 3 wholes and you would multiply 3 by the 1 in 1/4 and multiply 1 in 3/1 by 4 in 1/4.  Therefor, you get the answer of 3/4.  Then, when I had to divide my dessert ingredients, I divided by 4.  Here is an example of how to divide fractions:  say you take 1/4 (example) and divide it by 4. You would write 1/4 divided by 4/1 since 4/1 is equivalent to 4 wholes.  To actually divide, you would keep the fraction 1/4 the same, change the division sign to a multiplication sign and then flip the 4/1 to 1/4 and then you have the equation 1/4 x 1/4.  The answer would be 1/8.  That there is how I divided fractions.  So that is really all there was to do in this webquest!
